Former Gopher quarterback Mitch Leidner did not hear his name called during the NFL Draft, and now he'll have to prove himself to the pros.
He's headed to the Baltimore Ravens minicamp this weekend to try to earn a contract.
But Leidner says he's used to dealing with adversity and was prepared for this situation. He says not being drafted just fuels him to show the league what he can do.
"I think the chip's probably bigger than it's ever been," he said. "It's kind of funny, I talked to Coach Kill about the whole thing and he said the same thing, he's like, 'You've been an underdog your whole life, nothing's changing now.' So I'll just go out there and compete as hard as I can and do whatever it takes. So I'm excited."
