MINNEAPOLIS - More college baseball is coming to Target Field.
The Big Ten Conference announced Friday the 2013 Big Ten Baseball Tournament will be played at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. The event will be the first time the conference tournament is played in a Major League Baseball ballpark.
Minnesota has won nine conference titles in the 31-year history of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament, the most of any team in the conference.
This year's Big Ten Baseball Tournament will be played at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio, home of the Columbus Clippers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
The Gophers played in the first ever game at Target Field in 2010 as well as their entire home schedule in 2011.
Siebert Field, the University of Minnesota's ballpark, hosted the Big Ten Baseball Tournament in 1984, 1986, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
