BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee Legacy Fund has reached a milestone.
Their $90,000 grant to the Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth marks more than a million dollars given in grants to communities throughout the state of Minnesota.
This grant will help fund the “Rec on the Go” program, which serves the thousands of young people throughout Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center.
"When we looked at the kids we were serving, 65 percent of them had never been in recreation programming before," said Rebecca Gilgen from the Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth. "Brand new programming, brand new opportunities, for kids that are really excited."
This week marks the 18th week of the 52 Weeks of Giving Campaign for the Legacy Fund. Super Bowl 52 will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium in February.
