MINNEAPOLIS - Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is officially on the road to recovery.
The Vikings issued a press release early Thursday announcing the All-Star's surgery scheduled for this morning was a success.
Peterson suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.
The team said Peterson's surgery was performed by team physician Chris Larson at Twin Cities Orthopedics.
"There were no additional injuries or issues noted in or surrounding the knee joint during the surgical procedure. The rehabilitation process will begin immediately," the press release states.
