EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Injured Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has taken the first big step on his long road to recovery.
Head Coach Mike Zimmer said Thursday Bridgewater's surgery was successful and that no additional structural damage was found.
Bridgewater suffered a complete tear to his ACL, plus other damage to his knee, during practice on Tuesday last week.
Zimmer said he hasn't talked to Bridgewater directly but that he got a call from the doctor and "it was good."
He said he and the 23-year-old have been in communication the last few days and he has no doubt it'll be a "good rehab."
“He’ll have bad days and he’ll have good days and he’ll have to keep, like he always does, keep fighting,” Zimmer said.
