NEW BRIGHTON, Minn.- A Minnesotan on the U.S. Curling team needs just one thing to complete his Olympic dream: his family. But John Shuster needs help getting his wife and young son to Sochi.
This will be John's third Olympic game. At 8-months-old his son Luke is already going to curling practice. But when it comes to competition Luke stays home with Sarah.
"We do a little bit of face timing when we're on the road but it's not the same," John said.
That's why John and Sarah started an online campaign to raise money.
They hope to raise $10,000 so the entire family can go to Sochi.
"Seeing them after the games and getting those hugs and sharing those moments with them are extremely important to me," he said.
As an Olympic athlete John's trip is paid for. But Sarah has to save up vacation time and money.
"I had one stretch where worked 21 out of 24 days so you definitely have to work a lot but it's worth it," Sarah said.
So far they couple has raised almost $3,000. To help them reach their goal visit their website.
