David Watkins and Eric Perkins are getting in shape for their world record attempt
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- KARE-11 Sports reporters Eric Perkins and David Watkins are preparing to break the record for the longest singles tennis match in history.
The current record stands at 36 hours, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds. It all gets started at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3rd and will end during KARE-11's 10:00 p.m. newscast on Tuesday.
In 2008, Perk and David put together a "Perk at Play" featuring Diva Doug.
Doug Melroe is a fitness trainer at The Firm in Minneapolis, but he's not your typical workout warrior.
Perk and David need somebody as crazy as them to prepare their bodies for a 36 hour, 36 minute, and 36 second tennis marathon.
Breaking this World Record is difficult, but surviving Diva Doug's workout is even harder.
