The Apple Valley boys soccer team completed a perfect season by defeating Wayzata 4-0 in the final game of the state soccer tournament at the Metrodome.

Tom Obarski led the way with two goals and also made the all-state squad.

Apple Valley finishes the season 24-0-0 in 2A soccer.

Wayzata won the girls 2A soccer championship, beating top-ranked Woodbury 2-1.

Junior forward Taylor Wodnick's 2nd half header broke a 1-1 tie.  She finished the state tournament with 5 totals goals.

Mahtomedi continued its hot streak with a 3-0 win against Hermantown, winning the 1A boys final.

The Zephyrs scored twice in the first half thanks to great shooting from Ryan Redmond and Bernardo Medellin.

The most impressive individual performance came from a 7th grader.  Orono's Sophie Babo scored three times in a 5-0 shutout over The Blake School during the girls 1A championship game.

Babo led the Spartans in scoring this season, but a hat trick in the state finals earned her a spot on the all-state squad.
