MINNEAPOLIS - Former Twins manager Tom Kelly took center stage at Target Field Saturday.

"He's one of the greats," said Frank Viola, who helped to lead the Twins to the 1987 World Series. "I've learned a lot from him and I'm happy to be here."

Viola was among dozens of Kelly's former players to take part in a pre-game ceremony. The program included the unveiling of Kelly's number 10 in left field.  A number, now retired.

"The game is not about the managers or the coaches, it's about the players," Kelly told the crowd.

The ceremony isn't particularly Kelly's style. He's known for being humble and staying out of the spotlight.

"This was a special night," admits Kelly. "It's why I wanted to share it with my family, friends, and neighbors."

"T.K." managed the Twins from 1986 to 2001 and is the team's all-time leader in wins. He led the Twins to World Series titles in 1987 and 1991.
