Eden Prairie, Minn. -- The "Carnival of the Animals," a popular musical work by Camille Saint-Saëns, is now enhanced with dance steps in a new ballet with the famous Dying Swan choreographed by Michael Fokin for Anna Pavlova.
Performed by the Academy of Russian Ballet Twin Cities, KARE Saturday got a sneak peak with a live performance.
Another upcoming performance by the Academy is "Les Sylphides," Originally entitled Chopiniana, Fokine created this dance suite unifying music and movement in an implied drama of Romanticism. Les Sylphides is famous as the first "abstract" classical ballet without narrative structure or defined characters.
"Carnival of the Animals" and Chopins "Les Sylphides" will take place on Saturday March 22nd at the Eden Prairie High School Auditorium. Ticket prices begin at $12 for children, and $18 for adults.
