GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – A local, upcoming fundraiser aims to move people through the power of laughter and also contribute to the funding of brain tumor research.

Humor to Fight the Tumor features live comedy, silent and live auctions, dinner and stories of determination and courage by brain tumor survivors.

Kristin Gabriel and Kristen Thurber, Board Members of Humor to Fight the Tumor, joined us on KARE Saturday to discuss the upcoming gala.

Humor to Fight the Tumor began in 2004 as a fundraising effort to support the work of the American Brain Tumor Association. The event was started to raise awareness and funds for research of brain tumors.

Humor to Fight the Tumor's 11th Annual Gala will be held September 13 at 6 p.m. at the Depot. For more information, visit www.humortofightthetumor.com.
