Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are seven ideas for things to celebrate summer with family and friends around the Twin Cities.

1. Highland Fest

4. Stillwater Log Jam

Stillwater will play host to the 80th annual Lumberjack Days with the Log Jam taking place July 18 - 20. The weekend will feature lumberjack shows, parades, fishing contests, a soap box derby, live music and much more. Click here for more information.

5. Lakefront Music Festival Prior Lake

July 18 and 19

The outdoor concert season continues this weekend with the 5th annual Lakefront Music Festival in Prior Lake.

Country music star, Trace Adkins and The Under the Sun Tour (including Blues Traveler, Smash Mouth, Uncle Kracker and Sugar Ray) will headline the 2014 Prior Lake Rotary's Lakefront Music Fest. The two-day festival is at Lakefront Park on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19.

The Under the Sun Tour will kick off the festival on Friday and Trace Adkins, Maggie Rose and Lo Cash Cowboys will take the stage Saturday.

Tickets for the event are $20 in advance for both days. Tickets are available at the gate for $20 per night. Children 15 and under are free. Click here for more information.

6. Rondo Days Festival St. Paul

July 19

Free

The Rondo Days festival will be back at the Rondo Education Center's Outdoor Field at 560 Concordia Avenue (Old Rondo Avenue), which is North adjacent to the MLK center and the site of previous Rondo Days festivals. The annual weekend festival commemorates the Rondo neighborhood, an African American community that was split in two by the construction of I-94 in the mid-1960s.Click here for more information.

7. Rum River Music Festival

July 19

$20 General Admission / $15 Group Tickets of 10+ / Free for children 15 and under

Local artists GB Leighton, Swag and the Austin Healy Band will provide entertainment for the first ever Rum River Music Fest. The event will take place at Sand Creek Park in Coon Rapids and benefits HOPE 4 Youth – a nonprofit organization serving youth experiencing homelessness through Housing, Outreach, Prevention and Education in Anoka County.
