ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota State Fair has announced more than two dozen new attractions and exhibits for 2014.
Heritage Square has been replaced with the West End Market which includes The Minnesota State Fair History & Heritage Center which will feature artifacts and photos from the fair's 150 plus years.
It also will feature the Schell's Stage which will feature free music and entertainment throughout the fair. The area will also be home to craftspeople and other merchants as well as food and beverage vendors.
Visitors arriving on mass transit will see the new Transit Hub which will provide access to Park & Ride and Express Service buses.
Some of the other features and competitions include gymnastics on horseback demonstrations and horses without riders moving to music as part of the annual Minnesota State Fair Horse Show.
The Common Table is a new interactive exhibit that invites the community to talk about 'intentional food choices' according to the Minnesota State Fair.
The latest attraction at The North Woods is the "Extreme Canines Stunt Dog Show" featuring rescue dogs turned stunt dogs. They catch Frisbees, compete in a triathlon and show of their high-jump skills.
The Kidway and Mighty Midway have added eight new rides.
