First the bad news: Music legend Paul McCartney is being forced to reschedule some dates on his upcoming American tour as he recovers from a significant illness.

The good news for Minnesota fans of the former Beatle: His Target Field show, set for August 2 at Target Field, is so far unaffected.

McCartney is still recovering from a viral infection that forced postponement of several tour dates in Asia last month. He is following his doctors' advice to rest up before returning to the road. The June dates on a U.S. tour, slated to start Saturday in Lubbock, Texas, have have been shelved until October.

"I'm sorry but it's going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again," McCartney said in a statement. "I'm feeling great but taking my docs' advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon."

McCartney was hospitalized in Tokyo in May after scrapping a handful of dates in Japan and one in South Korea, then canceling all remaining dates of the Asian tour.

His Out There tour now resumes July 5 in Albany. Tickets for the June dates will be honored at the newly rescheduled shows.
