GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Twin Cities nonprofit College Possible was recently in the national spotlight.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama invited the group to Washington, D.C. last week to attend the kick-off of the administration's new college access initiative.
College Possible has served low-income students since 2001. Not only does the program coach students through the college application process, but continues that support through graduation.
The program has expanded to partner with 20 high schools in the Twin Cities. An additional 20 schools are on a waiting list.
College Possible is also growing nationwide. Since its creation, College Possible has helped students in the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Omaha, Nebraska and Portland, Oregon. It will expand to Philadelphia later this year.
