MINNEAPOLIS - A bus tour will take off from the Twin Cities this weekend to travel across the country and change the lives of children battling cancer.

The non-profit, "Love Your Melon" bus will stop in 16 cities along the way. While at college campuses, Love Your Melon will park its bus and shave the heads of willing students to raise awareness for the cause.

The Love Your Melon team will also visit children's hospitals dressed as superheroes to hand out hats and lift their spirits.

The first stop is Sunday, January 12 in Madison, WI. The tour returns to Minneapolis on February 7.

Hats are available online at www.loveyourmelon.com throughout the tour. For every hat purchased, one will go to a child battling cancer.

Love Your Melon founders, University of St. Thomas alums, Zachary Quinn and Brian Keller visited KARE 11 Sunrise with more on the mission.
