GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – Assistance dogs can be life-changing and have an incredible impact on their partners. International Assistance Dog Week is August 3-9.
Al Peters, Executive Director of Can Do Canines, joined us on KARE Saturday to discuss events celebrating International Assistance Dog Week.
Since 1989, Can Do Canines has provided more than 450 dogs, free of charge, to people who have hearing, mobility, and autism issues.
On Saturday, August 9 at 10 a.m., Can Do Canines is hosting an open tour of their facility in New Hope, to see first-hand the abilities and skills of assistance dogs as demonstrated by their trainers. For more information on this event go online.
Can Do Woofaroo Walk & Festival is a one-mile fundraising walk and a festival featuring exhibitors, entertainment, and food. Entertainment includes a doggie costume contest, music, assistance dog demos and tours of the Can Do Canines facility. Can Do Woofaroo is Saturday, September 13.
