WINSTED, Minn.--Lucas Morang is a young man with a big dream; to give the gift of hearing to deserving children around the world.
After receiving services from the Starkey Hearing Foundation to help with his own hearing loss, nine year old Lucas knew that he wanted to something to give back. With support from family and friends Lucas began to host fundraisers and donate the proceeds to the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Now, at the age of 15, Lucas continues to host fundraisers to support the foundation and to date has raised more than $31,000.
Lucas' service doesn't stop there. In March of 2014 Lucas, his brother Duncan and his mother Donna were invited to travel with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to Nairobi, Kenya to participate on a hearing mission. Lucas was given the unique opportunity to see his fundraising dollars at work while working alongside Starkey professionals to give the gift of hearing to children living half a world away.
When Lucas isn't traveling, contacting major organizations or organizing fundraisers he is simply enjoying life as a teenager. Lucas loves fishing, running cross country, swimming, snowboarding and spending time with his friends.
