MINNEAPOLIS -- You might call it the icing on the cake. After developing a huge fan base with their food truck, the owners of "A Cupcake Social" have opened a brick and mortar store in South Minneapolis.
A Cupcake Social is a food truck turned brick and mortar dessert destination in South Minneapolis.
"We had people all the time ask us why don't you open a store," co-owner Jess Stone told KARE 11 recently. So, after taking a big bite of a cupcake that should have been called, "courage," Stone and her business partner
Suzette Herr took the leap. The result is a cozy, family friendly store that has a fun kid's space and a touch of glam for the adults with a crystal chandelier hanging overhead.
The vibe has been so appealing that frequently the store is rented out for birthday parties and bridal showers.
Billed as gourmet cupcake boutique, the menu changes weekly. Fan favorites include Death By Chocolate, Red Velvet and Simply Vanilla. Die hard fans check Twitter weekly for updates on current offerings.
And they also serve up a nice assortment of handmade ice cream to go with those yummy cakes.
