GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Even with snow still on the ground, many across Minnesota are itching to fire up their grills. Just in time, Kitchen Window is holding its annual Grill Expo.

The Expo is April 12-13 at Calhoun Square in Minneapolis, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days.

Kitchen Window president Doug Huemoeller shared his basic grilling tips and a tasty recipe with KARE 11 Saturday viewers.

Kitchen Window's Grilled Pork Loin with Bacon Apricot Chutney

Ingredients
4 pork loin chops (1 inch thick)
6 slices bacon, minced
2 shallots, sliced lengthwise
1 cup dried apricots, large diced
1 cup orange marmalade
1/2 cup Lyle's Golden Syrup
1/8 cup cider vinegar

Method
In a saucepan, cook bacon until lightly browned. Add shallots and apricots and cook until shallots are translucent.

Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 5-10 minutes.

Cool to room temperature.

Grill or smoke loin chops and cook until 140 degrees. Remove from grill, rest 5 minutes and serve topped with chutney.
