MINNEAPOLIS -- It's time to celebrate summer with a splash of something delicious. Writer, photographer and cocktail enthusiast Joy Estelle Summers joined us today to spill what she knows about this summer's coolest beverage: Sangria!

Before mixing up her own concoction, Summers shared some Twin Cities spots pouring special sangrias.

Hola Arepa - white wine sangria, wonderfully dry and crisp just begging to be paired with their yucca fries on their incredible, new patio.

Spill the Wine - sangria in Mason jars - perfect for brunch or long, summer evenings.

Saffron - refined, date night sangria from one of the best bartenders in the Twin Cities.

Joy's special sangria:

1 bottle of rose – something with a berry flavor profile

¼ cup limoncello

¼ tsp ground cardamom

¼ cup soda water

Mix limoncello and cardamom together. Add rose and limoncello mixture to a pitcher and stir. Add soda water. Serve over ice. Garnish with fresh raspberries, lemon twist and mint. Smack mint leaves before serving.
