LAKE ELMO, Minn. - The Minnesota State Horticultural Society is more than a bunch of people that get together and talk gardening.
The club offers a wealth of information for all gardeners, makes a difference in the community and they are some very nice people.
Educational programs for gardeners of all skill levels include classes on everything from beginning vegetables gardens to growing hops for beer! If you learn from reading, the MSHS has a library at their home in Falcon Heights with hundreds of books to check out.
The Northern Gardner magazine put out by the MSHS is a fabulous resource for anyone who loves to garden already or is thinking about starting a garden. The best part is that each article inside is focused on growing here in the Midwest.
The society gives back n a big way through the popular Garden in a Box program, which provides supplies, plants, soil and a lesson to low-income families so they can grow their own healthy food in a small garden box.
