NEW YORK - The stock market is opening little changed following last week's strong U.S. jobs report.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose six points to 16,026 shortly after the market opened Monday. The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained three points to 1,808. The Nasdaq composite rose nine points to 4,072.
Stocks rose sharply Friday after the government reported a fourth straight month of solid U.S. job gains.
Traders will be watching comments from Federal Reserve officials Monday to see if they'll hint at the central bank's plans at its meeting next policy meeting.
American Airlines rose $1.25, or nearly 6 percent, to $23.76 after completing its deal with US Airways Monday to create the world's biggest airline.
