MINNEAPOLIS - Authorities are looking the individuals responsible for more than a dozen suspected arsons in south Minneapolis overnight.
Minneapolis Police responded to 17 fires between 8:30 pm Fridayand 12:30 a.m Saturdayin an area bordered by West River Parkway on the east, Snelling Avenue South on the west, 32nd Street East on the north and 45th Street East on the south.
The fires included ten bags or piles of leaves, two garages, three vehicles, one dumpster and one retaining wall. Arson investigators quickly determined that the fires were intentionally set.
Officers spent much of their resources looking for the suspects overnight. According to Sgt. William Palmer, approximately 20 Minneapolis Police squads from all five precincts and the Special Operations Division were in the area searching.
After questioning several people in the area, no arrests have been made in connection with the fires.
Anyone with information about these fires or the people who set them is asked to call the Arson Squad at 612-673-2549. Anyone who sees someone setting a fire should call 911 immediately.
The Minneapolis Arson squad will be investigating the fires.
