MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police are hopingsurveillancephotos will help identify a suspect whoseassaulton a stranger landed him in the hospital.

The victim was walking down a sidewalk at404 Lake Street West on June 24 when a man approached him and extended his hand as if to shake hands. Instead, the suspect sucker punched the victim, dropping him to the sidewalk. an assault.

The victim was transported to Abbott Northwestern Hospital to be checked out. At the time doctors did not know the extent of injuries to the victim butit was later determined that he hadsuffered damage to his larynx that required surgery and days of hospitalization.

The suspect, whose image was captured on suveillance photos, is described as a black male, mid to late 20s,5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing all dark clothing with a hat and white shoes.
