MINNEAPOLIS - Police shut down two lanes ofStateHighway 62/Crosstownnear the border of Minneapolis and Edinafor a period late Thursday morning as they searched for at least one suspect in a home burglary.

Squads were called to ahomeonthe 6100 block of Xerxes on a report of a burglary in progress shortly after 11 a.m. An Edina police spokesperson says the property owner came home, found someone in the house and called 911.

As officers arrived on the scene another 911 call came in reporting a man running around on the Crosstown. Police set up a perimeter and soonlocated the suspect and took him into custody.

He was taken to nearby Fairview Southdale Hospital for unknonw reasons.

Theincident triggered a shutdown ofall but one lane of the heavily traveled westbound Crosstown Highway for a short period of time, and when traffic was allowed to resume theramp to Xerxes remained closed.
