ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Paul Police say they have identified a woman found dead behind a St. Paul church as Naressa Mashaya Turner.
Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of shots fired in an alley behind Iglesia de Dios Rios de Agua in the 900 block of Reaney Avenue. When they arrived, they found a woman, reportedly 20-years-old, dead in a car in the alley.
Police say no arrests have been made, but they continue to follow leads.
According to investigators, the shooting does not appear to be random. Turner's family says she received death threats via social media recently, but police are not confirming those reports.
Investigators are trying to figure out what took place in the moments leading up to the shooting, including who may have been inside the vehicle with the woman.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Saint Paul Police Department.
