MINNEAPOLIS - A 61-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to driving drunk and killing another woman as she was walking on a Maple Grove sidewalk last January.

Linda Lee Hamm of Maple Grove pleaded guilty Monday to criminal vehicular homicide in the death of 54-year-old Ann Blake.

Judge Daniel Moreno sentenced Hamm to eight years in prison but stayed that for 10 years and ordered her to serve one year in the Hennepin County workhouse.

Hamm also cannot use alcohol or non-prescribed drugs and must perform 120 hours of community service.

According to the complaint, Blake was waiting to cross the road Jan. 31 when Hamm went up on the median, struck Blake and collided with another car. Hamm's blood-alcohol content was 0.18 percent, more than twice Minnesota's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

There is a benefit for Anne Blake's children scheduled for Friday, October 26 at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. For more information on how you can help log on to the Blake Family Trust Facebook Page.
