WAYZATA, Minn. -- A prayer walk and community rally helped kick off an annual sleep out event in Wayzata Saturday night.

KARE 11 meteorologist Laura Betker was the emcee for the rally at Klapprich Park.

The sleep out, which has taken place for 16 years, has helped raise more than $15 million to help provide families in needwith housing, food, child care, transportation and employment.

In addition to the sleep out, the campaign includes donation collections, cook-offs, shopping for a cause and a waffle breakfast.
