BEJING, China - They were only joking -- really.
The editors of China's Communist Party newspaper apparently know nothing about The Onion, the satirical midwestern newspaper known for it's dark humor and off-the-wall articles.
How else can you explain why the People's Daily online ran a 55-page photo spread on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after The Onion named him "the sexiest man alive" in a recent issue.
Editors even quoted The Onion's spoof, writing "With his devastatingly handsome, round face, his boyish charm and his strong, sturdy frame, the Pyongyang-bred heartthrob is every woman's dream come true."
After finding out they'd been gooned, an online editor said the People's Daily said the photo spread would be taken off-line.
