Lino Lakes Police and the Minnesota State Patrol were both called to the scene of a reported accident on Interstate 35E near the junction of Highway 14 around 6 a.m. The caller told officers that a man in a pickup with a plow had sideswiped him and driven away. They found the truck stuck in a ditch a short ways away, and footprints indicating the driver had fled on foot.

Minutes later authorities received another call from a resident on the 6600 block of Clearwater Creek Driver in Lino Lakes. The caller told officers that she was in the kitchen preparing food when a man broke intoher home. She yelled at him to leave, the man said "It's a chase," and left.
