GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.- There are fewer things more rewarding than positively impacting the life of a child. Andy Anderson, one of the 2013 Eleven Who Care Honorees, gets the chance to positively impact the lives of children every week as a second grade math tutor.

Andy volunteers at Sunset Hill Elementary School in Plymouth, Minn. Every week students get a few minutes to work one-on-one with Andy on their math facts. Andy brings in his own flashcards and personalizes the experience for each student. He enjoys challenging the students and watching them succeed.

Andy is also an advocate for teachers. In the past Andy took it upon himself to organize a teacher appreciation event. He worked with the students and local businesses to put on an event designed to thank the teachers for all of the hard work that they do. It is something that the teachers fondly remember.
