MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis fire crews and CenterPoint Energy have cleared the scene of a reported gas leak in southwest Minneapolis.

Crews had been going door-to-door evacuating people as a precaution. They were allowed to return home just before 5 p.m. The evacuations lasted about an hour and a half.

The area impacted extended from 39th Street West to 42nd Street West, from Upton Avenue to Zenith Avenue.

People had been asked to avoid the area while workwas being done.

Therewere no fires or injuries to report. Minneapolis schoolsalso werenot letting students and staff leave over fear that buses could ignite the leak.
