EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - A police officer was injured breaking up a fight Wednesday morning at Eden Prairie High School.
Eden Prairie police confirm that officers were dispatched to the High School around 9:45 a.m. on reports of a fight between more than a half-dozen female students.
In the process of breaking up the fight a liaison officer suffered what may be a broken ankle and was transported to a local hospital.
Police say they are working closely with the Eden Prairie Public Schools to investigate how the officer was injured and what may have led to the fight. Preliminary information indicates six to eight female students may have been involved in the brawl.
