ST. PAUL, Minn. - A Twin Cities man is pleading guilty in connection with a 2011 drunk driving crash thatkilled one person and severely injured two others.

Eugene Michael Farrell, 63, entered guilty Thursday to one count of criminal vehicular homicide and one count of criminal vehicular operation.

A criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County says Farrell slammed into an overturned vehicle and directly or indirectly struck Marcus Andary, Keith Barnes andAlicia Kaufenberg, the driver they were trying to help out of her overturned car.

Prosecutors say Farrell admitted drinking before the crash.

Andary, a 21-year-old college student from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., was thrown into the roadway and hit by another car. He died at the scene.

Barnes and Kaufenberg suffered life-threatening injuries; Both lost their left legs when Farrell crashed into them.

Farrell was originally charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and four counts of criminal vehicular operation

He will be sentenced on June 14 at 9:00 a.m.
