GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A group of volunteers from the Twin Cities is headed to Fargo Friday morning to help people in the Red River Valley prepare for what could be historic flooding.
Thevolunteers fromHeadwaters Relief Organization will assist with sandbagging effortsas emergency officials and residents in Fargo try to fill one-million sandbags in ten days.
Forecasters say peak flooding will likely take place after April 15 but there are concerns it could top the record of nearly 41 feet, set in 2009.
Damage to buildings, homes and city infastructure cost Fargo some $50 million in damages.
