San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Joe Pavelski scored the winner late in the third period as the San Jose Sharks took a 2-1 decision over the Calgary Flames on Friday.
Dan Boyle scored the other goal while Antti Niemi made 23 stops for the Sharks, who have won seven straight games. With 46 points, the team moved a point ahead of Los Angeles for fourth place in the Western Conference.
Mikael Backlund scored the lone goal of the game for the Flames, who have lost 12 straight games on the road. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 39 shots in the loss.
