ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The new St. Paul Restaurant located in the Frogtown neighborhood, The Daily Diner, shared their chicken and waffle recipe. Enjoy!
Chicken and Waffles:
- Waffle Batter* 4 oz
- Whole Chicken Wings 3 per serving
- Seasoned Flour* 1 cup
- Buttermilk 4 oz
- Cinnamon Maple Syrup* 4 oz
- Whipped Butter 2 oz

Place the waffle batter in the waffle iron and cook the waffle.
Toss the chicken wings in the seasoned flour then the buttermilk then the flour again. Put the wings in a fry basket and shake off the excess flour.
Deep fry the wings until golden brown and fully cooked.
Place the waffle on a plate with the chicken wings on top of it.
Serve with a side of whipped butter and drizzle with cinnamon maple syrup.
- Flour 4 cups
- Sugar 1 cup
- Baking Powder 2 TBL
- Salt 1 ½ tsp
- Nutmeg ¼ tsp
- Eggs (beaten) 4
- Buttermilk3 ½ cups
- Butter (melted and cooled) 1 ½ cup
- Vanilla Extract 1 tsp
- Honey 1 cup
Combine the dry ingredients and set aside.
In a separate bowl combine the wet ingredients.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and fold together until well blended.
- Flour ½ pound
- Granulated Garlic 2 TBL
- Paprika 2 TBL
- Seasoned Salt2 TBL
- Black Pepper 2 TBL
Combine all ingredients and mix well
Cinnamon Maple Syrup:
- Water 1 ½ cup
- Sugar 2 cups
- Brown Sugar 2 cups
- Corn Syrup ½ cup
- Cinnamon Sticks3 sticks
- Imitation Maple Flavoring 2 TBL
Place the cinnamon sticks in the water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium and Add the sugar and brown sugar.
Stirring constantly add the sugars and corn syrup to the water until the sugar is dissolved and thickened.
When dissolved and thickened add the maple flavoring and mix well.
