WOODBURY, Minn. - The last two months have taken a toll on the father of Kira Trevino.
"It has been hard emotionally and physically," said Jay Steger. "I'm in Minnesota every weekend searching for her."
The Wausau, Wisconsin native continues to pray for closure in this case and joins dozens of volunteers each weekend looking for her whereabouts. Steger is grateful for the friends, family and strangersthat have given their time.
"It's overwhelming that people can come together like this," says Steger. "If anyone else wants to come help we would appreciate it."
Steger told KARE 11 that while Jeffery Trevino was "very distant" he never saw any serious "red flags" in Kira's marriage with him. It wasn't until weeks before her disappearance when she briefly talked about her concerns.
"She reached out to me and said she was having a hard time," said Steger. "But I didn't know anything about their relationship and what was going on in it."
Kira's family prays for closure and believes justice isn't far away.
"He (Jeffery)took a girl that was 30-years old. She had a good life ahead of her," he says. "But she will never be forgotten."
