Cobey Rouse, Shannon Frid-Rubin (Cloud Cult) and Eric Carranza (Better Bones) make up the indie folk trio batteryboy and are preparing to release their latest CD, "Up For Air," this month.

"'Up For Air'" is a collection of very personal songs, not just to me, but to all of us now. There's a lot of meaning in them from hope to heartache, love, loss, yearning, the meaning of existence," Rouse said. "It's quite a deep, personal album but I think it touches people in a lot of different ways and that's really cool to us."

You can catch batteryboy play live at their CD release show on Saturday, June 22 at Icehouse starting at 10:30p.m.
