MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis police officer is recovering in the hospital after she was thrown from her horse during a training exercise.
A spokesperson for the Minneapolis police says doctors want to keep the officer overnight for observation.
A team of paramedics treated the mounted patrol officer on an athletic field Wednesday afternoon.
According to Minneapolis Police Public Information Officer Cyndi Barrington the officer was thrown off her horse and the horse's hooves hit her chest. She was wearing a vest and a helmet.
The officer was at a location at 4110 Dupont Avenue North that is currently used for police training.
