ST. PAUL, Minn. - The 2013-14 Minnesota Wild schedule will be the first in the newly created National Hockey League Central Division.
The team released a schedule that for the first time in historyincludes a visit to the Xcel Energy Center from every team in theleague.
Under new division alignment, Minnesota will play 29 games against its new division, including at least four games against each member. The Wild will play defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago five times.
The Wild will play one home gameand one road game against each member of the Eastern Conference.
Minnesota opens the season at home against the Los Angeles Kings at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Wild regular season tickets will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. at the Xcel Energy Center box office and at 12 p.m. via all Ticketmaster locations and Wild.com.
The 82-game season includes 17 home weekend games. There are three home games on Friday, eight on Saturday and six on Sunday.
Shortly after the NHL said Friday it would send its players to the Olympics for the fifth straight time, it announced its regular-season slate. The season will be put on hold for 2½ weeks in February to accommodate the 2014 Games in Russia.
Opening night Oct. 1 will feature the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks hosting Washington. The regular season concludes April 13, with the playoffs beginning three days later.
