MINNEAPOLIS - An incident in north Minneapolis led to a brief standoff on Saturday night.

Minneapolis police said they received a call of an assault and shots fired at about 6:30 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect ran away and into a home on the 3800 block of Thomas Avenue North.

The man barricaded himself inside of the home, but the standoff ended peacefully, police said.

Three people were taken into custody without incident. The man who barricaded himself into the home was among those taken into custody, police said.

Four nearby homes were evacuated during the incident and portion of Dowling Avenue was closed. The road has been reopened and the residents were allowed to return to their homes.
