GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.--KARE 11, in partnership with HandsOn Twin Cities, will once again be hosting variety of speed volunteering activities at the Minnesota State Fair.
Volunteering opportunities will be available weekends at the State Fair from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. These activities take only about 15 minutes to complete and make a big impact in the work being done by this year's participating non profit organizations.
Saturday, August 24 volunteer with Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and make journal kits for the patients at Children's hospitals to decorate and personalize for themselves.
Sunday, August 25 volunteer with the Bakken Museum and assemble magnetic experiment kits for students who attend filed trips to use a part of their experience at Bakken.
Saturday, August 31 join the Aliveness Project and transform everyday boxes into winter holiday baskets.
Sunday, September 1 work with Cheerful Givers to design birthday bags that will be filled with toys and donated to food shelves and shelters so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift.
Monday, September 2 volunteer with Helping Paws of Minnesota and make fleece dog toys.
