ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Minnesota Golden Gophers football team will be without coach Jerry Kill on Saturday when they play the Michigan Wolverines.
The University of Minnesota Athletics Department said that Kill is in Minneapolis and will not be on the sideline for Saturday's game.
"Coach Kill was not feeling well on Friday morning and decided to meet the team in Ann Arbor on Saturday. He then suffered a seizure on Saturday morning," the U of M said in a statement.
Kill has been in contact with his staff. Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will serve as Minnesota's acting head coach from the press box, U of M officials said.
It's the fifth game-day seizure Kill has had in three seasons atMinnesota, and the second this year.
Kill had a seizure during halftime of the game on Sept. 15 against Western Illinois at TCF Bank Stadium. The university showed total support for Kill and his staff following that game.
Saturday will be the first time that Kill will miss an entire game because of a seizure.
