EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The winless New York Giants are out to get their first win of the season tonight in a game against the Vikings.

To the surprise of everyone, the Giants are 0-6 on the season and desperate for a victory. The Vikings are 1-4.

The Giants have given up 209 points and face an unknown quantity in Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman. He just joined the club a few weeks ago after being released by Tampa Bay. Coach Leslie Frazier named Freeman his starter last week as the club awaits the return of starting quarterback Christian Ponder who has sore ribs. Freeman is Minnesota's third starter in four games. Ponder started the first two before getting hurt and was replaced by Matt Cassel.

Because of Freeman's lack of experience with the Minnesota system, it is believed the Giants will see a lot of running back Adrian Peterson.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning is off to a rather un-Manning like start as he has been picked off 15 times.
