ST. PAUL, Minn. - A crash that eventually involved as many as 8 vehicles made for a rough rush hour in St. Paul Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near the junction of I-94 and Highway 52. Traffic from Highway 52 to westbound 94 backed up significantly, as did westbound traffic on I-94 from Woodbury. Cars backed up for miles, turning the trip from I-694 into downtown St. Paul into an hour-long affair.

MnDOT traffic cameras showed a number of State Troopers blocking one lane of I-94 as the crashes were cleaned up. All lanes finally opened around 8 a.m. but significant backups remained.

At this hour there is no word on what triggered the pile up, or if there were any significant injuries.
