KELLOGG, Minn.- Residents were evacuated and schools went into lockdown mode Thursday morning while authorities responded to reports of a man with a gun inside a Kellogg home.

The Wabasha Police Department said they received a "shots fired" call around 5:00 a.m. Thursday. When they responded to the scene, they found a man in the street who said his roommate had discharged a firearm inside the residence. The man said he did not know if there were any injuries.

The Wabasha County/Goodhue Emergency Response Unit responded to the scene, along with the Minnesota State Patrol and Wabasha County authorities. They set up a perimeter and evacuated residents in the surrounding area. Several area schools were also in lockdown.

Around 10:20 a.m., a man was found deadinside the home. The man's identity is not being released pending an investigation.
