COON RAPIDS, Minn. - A Coon Rapids man has entered a guilty plea ina hit and run case that left a 9-year-old badly injured.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Nathan Wade Boese admittedthat he struck Amir Kahron Taylor with his truck in the area of 111th Avenue and Kumquat Street Northwest in Coon Rapids on on June 13, 2013 and sped away.

Taylor was in Coon Rapids visiting his grandmother at the time of the accident. The boysuffered significant head injuries and had to be hospitalized for an extended period of time.

A tip led investigators to the truck involved in the hit-and-run, but they were not immediately able to find Boese as he had fled the area.Eventually his attorney arranged for the defendant to turn himself in.

Anoka County District Court Judge Sharon Hall accepted Boese's guilty plea, and set sentencing for December 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm.

"I am satisfied that the defendant is taking responsibilities for his actions, which caused our young victim great harm," stated Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo. "Thankfully, the victim survived the accident and is recovering," Palumbo said.
