BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Mall of America has long been the battle field for bargain hunting on Black Friday.
This year, the bargain hunt started earlier than ever. Around 100 stores opened their doors at 8 p.m. Thursday night. Mall staff estimate that 50,000 shoppers walked through the doors by 10 p.m. Last year the mall opened up at midnight.
By Friday morning, the crowds had thinned out significantly and shoppers took note."We've been doing this for a long time at 5 a.m. It used to be really, really crowded but now it's like a regular weekday. It's nice. I like it," said Holly Reynolds of Apple Valley as she was shopping around 7 a.m.
